Accounts
How do I register?
First choose your account type. Are you an individual designer or do you represent a company?
Enter your email address, and pick a password.
You will receive an email to your designated email address, with instructions on how to login.
How do I pick a password?
Try to pick a password that is hard to guess, but is something that you can remember. Your password must be a minimum of 5-characters. It is advisable that the password contain both digits (0-9) and letters.
Am I an individual or a company?
By registering you will be able to browse through portfolios, and post and search jobs and projects.
What happens if I forget my password?
Just reset it from the login link on the menu bar.
How do I deactivate my account?
Please send an email to info@tasmeemME.com from the email you registered asking us to deactivate your account. By deactivating an account backup files will be maintained for a period of 6 months. If you decide to reactivate within that time period you can access this information again.
How do I delete my account?
Please send an email to info@tasmeemME.com from the email you registered asking us to delete your account. If you decide to reregister you must build your portfolio from scratch and reenter your information.
Can I register more than one account?
Yes you can, however each account must be associated with a unique email address. If you are the owner of two different companies, two accounts are appropriate. Or, if you simply want to distinguish between two very different talents feel free to use two accounts. It is your decision whether or not to combine or separate your two accounts.
Do I have to use my real name?
Yes. TasmeemME is a professional networking site, real names are required. If we receive a complaint regarding a nickname we will advise you to edit your name, and reserve the right to delete offensive accounts. When you sign in as an individual you will be prompted for a First Name and a Last Name. When you sign in as a company, you will be prompted to enter the complete company name.
Can I change my name?
Yes. However, do keep in mind that TasmeemME is a professional networking site. This means that clients and contacts will identify you primarily by your real name. For this reason, we recommend that you do not change your name, unless it has been changed legally. TasmeemME reserves the right to delete accounts that it suspects are not attributable to legitimate names.
What personal information should I include in my profile?
The information you choose to include is what people will see when they enter your page. Start by filling out the information that will help people identify you—Basic, Education, Work, and Picture.
What picture should I use for my profile?
Many Talent’s use images of their own work as their profile picture; companies choose to use their logo. While that is an option, using your own picture will also help other Talent’s to identify you. We recommend picking a picture that best represents who you are. If you are still confused, check out what other Talents are using. Keep in mind that your picture as well as all other profile information is editable.
Should I be afraid of putting my personal information on the internet?
TasmeemME has many privacy controls. Most important of which is that only registered TasmeemME users will be able to see your information, and only registered users will be able to contact you through the site. Your external contact information remains hidden.
What if I want to change the email address associated with my account?
Only one email address can be associated with an account at a single time. If you wish to change your email go into settings and enter the new email address.
Can I sign up if I am not in the Middle East?
Yes. While TasmeemME’s focus is the Middle East, anyone can sign up.
How old do I have to be to use TasmeemME?
You have to be at least 16 years old to use TasmeemME. Parental permission is also advised for those under 18.
Can I sign up if I am still a student?
Yes. Featuring your student work in a portfolio will help you make professional connections before you graduate.
How do I get updates on TasmeemME?
All updates are featured on the TasmeemME homepage, and you will also receive email notification.
What other things is TasmeemME thinking of including soon?
TasmeemME has two main sections that will be introduced soon:
- Bidding: An online auction site will be available soon. Here you can post projects with certain specifications for interested Talents to bid on. You can compare portfolios and cost proposals, and choose the best bidder for the job.
- Marketplace: A ready-to-buy section of the website where designers can post logos, templates, and other purchasable designs for set prices.
What do I do after registration?
After you create your account, set up your portfolio.
Your portfolio is what friends and professional associates will see about you on TasmeemME. It is not intended to be a personal page, but rather a professional outlet.
Reporting Abuse
What about if I see a copyright infringement in someone’s portfolio?
If you see someone claiming another artist’s work as their own please email info@tasmeemME.com.
How do I report abuse?
Report abuse by emailing info@tasmeemME.com, or by clicking the report abuse button under messages.
What is abuse?
Abuse may consist of abusive language, spamming, impersonation, copyright infringements.
Messaging
How do I message someone?
Click “send a message” besides their name, or write in their name in the “Compose Message” box in your messages tab.
How do I delete messages?
Click “delete message”.
Who can I message?
You can message anybody on the TasmeemME Network. Spamming, however, is prohibited. You can only use the TasmeemME message system to message people within the TasmeemME network.
How do I know if I receive a message?
If you receive a message in TasmeemME, an email will be sent informing you of the message, its subject line, and the sender to your specified email address.
Connections
How do I view my contact’s portfolios?
You can visit connections’ portfolios by logging in and clicking on the connections tab on the top of the page. You will see confirmed contacts listed as well as those who have requested to be connected to you. You can look through their images, leave comments, or message them.
How do I know if somebody has added me as a contact?
If you somebody adds you as a contact in TasmeemME, an email will be sent informing you. You can then login and either confirm or reject the connection request.
What happens if I reject a connection?
Nothing. The connection will not know that you have rejected their request.
What happens if I confirm a connection?
When you confirm a connection that connection will be automatically added to your list.
How do I add a connection?
You can add a connection by clicking “add connection” on a Talent’s portfolio.
How do I search for a connection?
Connecting with other design professionals is the basis of TasmeemME. Cooperation and networking are the two concepts to keep in mind while using the sites.
You can search for a connection through the Talents section by writing in their full-name, email address, or searching by entering their company, or browsing Talents within a certain specialization or field.
At any time on TasmeemME you can use the search box on the upper-left-hand side to search for Talents by name. Simply type in the name you are looking for and hit enter. For more precise results you can try entering other information such as their school or university or company. If you get no results, check to make sure you didn’t misspell or use a former name. If not, you can try searching by that person’s email address (if you know it).
How do I delete a connection?
You can delete a connection by clicking “delete” besides that Talent’s name.
How do I report abuse from a connection?
To report abuse email info@tasmeemME.com.
Will people be able to see my email address?
No. Your email address will remain private, unless you decide to send it to a connection. Within the TasmeemME messaging network email addresses are not used.
How do I confirm contacts?
When somebody adds you as a connection a message will be sent
Where are my connections displayed?
Your connections are displayed on the connections page of your account. The number of outstanding connections is displayed in the icon on the top right of your screen.
Who should I add as a connection?
Anybody who you know, or are associated with professionally. A relationship may begin through messages, and develop into connections.
Can I rate people?
TasmeemME is in the process of developing a rating system for Talent’s work. Check back for updates on its status.
Who can browse my portfolio?
Anyone who is registered for TasmeemME can browse your portfolio. There are no privacy settings for the account, so only post artwork that you would like other community members to view, appreciate and comment on. Unregistered users cannot browse portfolios.
Can I find out who has seen my work?
This is a feature that TasmeemME will add in the future, for now you will only know that those who have left comments have seen your work.
How do I leave comments on work?
Under each pictures in an album comments can be left by clicking in the comment box underneath each.
How do I know if somebody has left a comment on my work?
If somebody leaves comments on any of your images you will receive email notification. In addition you will be able to see which images have been commented on by clicking on any album.
What comments are appropriate to leave?
Comments may compliment or criticize work. They may be technical questions asking about techniques or styles. Any comments using polite professional language are appropriate. Any comments that are abusive include those with inappropriate language and/or attach the individual Talent. Such comments may be reported by the album owner.
Can I delete the comments?
You can delete comments you left on people’s work. You can also delete comments people left on your work.
Portfolio
What type of files can I include in my portfolio?
Any audio, video, image files, or pdf files can be included. Anything that represents your work.
What should I display in my portfolio?
Portfolios may include any creative work that you wish to share. Personal photographs are not meant for your portfolio. TasmeemME is intended as a professional site for creative talents. Any work that you believe will help market you to potential client is appropriate to include.
Is there a size to how much I can upload on my portfolio?
No, you can upload as many images and designs as you like.
How do I add my portfolio picture?
Click on the empty folder, browse for the pictures, and upload them. You can name each picture, add a description, and name your album.
Can I pick my album cover?
Yes you can. Click the “make album cover” checkbox for an image.
How can I edit personal information?
On your portfolio all information can be edited in place by clicking the edit button.
Can I order my images?
Yes you can. No matter what order images are uploaded in their order can be changed by clicking on the album and resorting in the menu that appears.
Can I add explanations?
Yes. Each image has room for a title and explanation underneath it.
How do I add different albums?
Each time you would like to add a new album just click on a new folder and upload the new images.
Are there any images that I am prohibited from displaying?
Yes. What may be considered art to some is offensive to others. We ask that images or creations containing profanity, nudity, or racism be left out of your album’s work. Any portfolio containing such images will have the album in question deleted from the system, and a warning sent to the Portfolio owner.
Can I display pictures of other artist’s work?
Yes you can, as long as you attribute the work correctly.
What is the difference between focus and field?
A field is your larger area of work. A focus is your specialization within your field.
Can I pick more than one focus or field?
Yes, please pick as many as apply to you.
Who can browse my portfolio?
Anyone registered with a TasmeemME account can browse your portfolio.
How do I find a Talent?
Enter a quick search with a name, email or specialization; or use the advanced search to narrow down your results by institution, location, or focus.
If you just want to browse, the most recent TasmeemME Talents can be found on the right of your page. Your search results will appear here instead once they are completed.
Posting Jobs
How do I post a job?
You post a job by clicking on the “Post Job” tab and filling out the appropriate details. First, fill in the field and focus of the post, and then fill out the rest of the form to the right-hand-side of the page.
To post a job you must first be a registered member of TasmeemME.
What is the difference between a job and a project?
A job is a long-term commitment with a company, whether on a freelance, part-time, or full-time basis; whereby you would be considered a permanent resource in the corporation. A project is a short-term commitment, governed by a specific timeline for a specific function. In general, a project is considered to be a lot more flexible than a job, you don’t need to be in the same country, or have a degree, you simply need to be able to carry out a limited design tasks.
Do I have to specify all fields when posting a Job?
No you don’t. Just leave any fields that don’t apply blank. The more fields you add the better response you will get to matching with a suitable applicant.
Can I edit my job post?
No. You will have to delete the post, and then create a new post for the job.
What happens after I post a job?
After you post a job you will be asked to preview the post, and then the post will become public. Interested Talents will apply and you will receive notification of their applications to the account’s email address.
Searching for Jobs
How do I search for jobs?
Click on the search job tab.
To search for a job you must first be a registered member of TasmeemME.
Can I find out who else has applied for the job?
No. Applying for a job is private.
Posting Projects
How do I post a project?
Click the post a project tab and fill out the details.
To post a project you must first be a registered member of TasmeemME.
After you post a project you will get a confirmation page, once you confirm the project will become public.
How do I specify a timeline on projects?
Just click on the calendar and pick your date.
Do I have to specify all fields?
No you don’t. Just leave any fields that don’t apply blank. The more fields you add the better response you will get to matching with a suitable applicant.
Can I edit my project post?
No. You will have to delete the post, and then create a new post for the job.
What happens after I post a project?
After you post a project you will be asked to preview the post, and then the post will become public. Interested Talents will apply and you will receive notification of their applications to the account’s email address.
How should I price a project?
Since all projects are public to registered TasmeemME users, you can compare yourself to what is currently available. It is important to price projects fairly, but keep within your budget. The TasmeemME bidding feature will be available soon to allow users to bid on the project with different amounts.
Can I rate the Talent’s work?
A rating system is not yet in place but it is coming soon to TasmeemME.
How do I pay the Talent?
For now, payment between the Talent and the job or project poster is done between the two individuals. If you would like TasmeemME to broker the agreement to guarantee payments and deliverables, email info@TasmeemME. A small fee will apply. An online payment system is coming soon to TasmeemME.
Searching for Projects
How do I search for projects?
To search for a project you must first be a registered member of TasmeemME.
Can I save searches?
No. Searches cannot currently be saved.
Can I find out who else has applied for the job?
No. Applying for a job is private.
What happens after I post a job?
After you post a job the post will become public. Interested Talents will apply and you will receive notification of their applications to the account’s email address.
Can I edit my bid amount?
No. You will have to delete your bid and repost a new one.
Who guarantees payment?
For now, payment between the Talent and the job or project poster is done between the two individuals. If you would like TasmeemME to broker the agreement to guarantee payments and deliverables, email info@TasmeemME. A small fee will apply. An online payment system is coming soon to TasmeemME.
What if the client doesn’t like my work?
Final approval has to come from the client.
Can I rate the client’s work?
A rating system is not yet in place but it is coming soon to TasmeemME.
Do I have direct contact with the client?
Yes you do. If you win a project you will deal directly with the client. All payments will be routed through TasmeemME. See payment section.
How do clients evaluate bids?
Each client evaluates bids independently. Most however look at previous experience and portfolio quality measured against budget.
How do I send my work to the client?
It is up to you and the client to decide. Most work is sent electronically.
