Ishraq

Ishraq is a Jordanian fashion stylist, journalist and textile artist based in New York and Amman, Jordan.

Born and raised in Amman, Jordan, Ishraq has a Bachelor degree in Architecture from Virginia Tech in the US, and a Masters degree in Textile and Materials Design from NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) in Milano- Italy.

Ishraq developed a fascination with and love for design and hand crafts at a young age. She enjoys the creative process of translating theories, ideas and objects between different design disciplines and their various scales and material vocabulary, be it buildings, garments, textiles or fashion editorials.

Having lived in the Middle East, Europe and North America, she has become particularly interested in cultural identity and all the various ways of expressing it. She especially enjoys working on fashion projects that explore such themes in new and unexpected ways.

She is an art director and producer for commercial as well as independent multi media, photography and film projects.

Ishraq enjoys working with her hands. From sewing to weaving to painting to baking to gardening, she is constantly making and creating.
