Hand-painted murals for Nathalie's Cafe, a coffee and kitchen concept established in 2012 with it's newest location in Fit Republik, a state-of the-the-art sports facility in the heart of Dubai Sports City. The client wanted to transform the entire space of the cafe into a cozy and relaxing atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the urban style of Dubai, while still being reflective of the outside surroundings of the city. I used a mixture of hand-painted illustrations and real-life cafe objects to give it a 2-D and 3-D look. I also introduced a third layer to the illustrations using the back door walls of the cafe (behind the counters), where i drew the bottom part of the city, to give the customer an even deeper peek into the city. I also introduced a few dream-like elements in the illustrations to transform the space into an imaginative, creative space with elements such as the tree that transform into clouds. 10m x 10 m hand-painted mural 8m x 10 m hand-painted mural Materials used: Acrylic paint Black ink Various real-life objects (books, planters, kitchen utensils etc.)
