Nazek El-Wakeel is currently a Senior Programs and Cooperation Officer at the Center For Democracy and Social Peace Studies (CDSPS) of the Academic and Research Sector at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA). She has worked at the BA for more than 13 years which provided an experience in public relations at large, media & communications, fund-raising & resource development, project management, research, and high profile event planning & implementation. Throughout her career, she has successfully managed projects, risks, costs and project teams as well as competently handled a variety of tasks and audience. She has been exposed to numerous national and international events, activities, programs, and projects dealing with social change and development; education; human rights; intercultural dialogue; amongst other humanitarian areas.
She obtained her Bachelor’s degree of Arts and Humanities from the Alexandria University, Faculty of Arts, English Department, Literature Section. Her concentration was Literature, Humanities and Civilizations at large. In 2007 She was nominated to be the International Human Rights Fellow at the Protection Project of The Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies, Washington DC, the United States of America. During her fellowship at the Protection Project, she has been subjected to a comprehensive experience of projects, research and many more activities and programs. She has also taken several courses at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, Washington DC, The United States of America; as well as at The American University, Washington College of Law, Washington DC, The United States of America.
