JOB TITLE: GRAPHIC DESIGNER

STATEMENT OF FUNCTIONS (PRIMARY REASON / OBJECTIVE OF JOB EXISTENCE)
The incumbent is required to be involved in aspects of planning, interpreting and developing the visual style and overall layout of marketing and sales collateral. The position functions within a team framework to efficiently design and produce materials for printing, display or publications that will enhance EXCEED's image.
1. WORK PERFORMED
1.1. Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts.
1.2. Prepare illustrations or rough sketches of material, discussing them with clients and/or supervisors and making necessary changes.
1.3. Re-size and airbrush images, create animation and sounds effects, and design content for websites, videos and other multimedia projects.
1.4. Review proofs of the publication and check for errors in the mock-up design before the project is sent to final print.
1.5. Working with others, such as printers, programmers, developers or other technicians, to complete the final product the final product.
1.6. Be able to meet the deadlines or the estimation of time required to complete the work.
1.7. Developing design briefs by gathering information and data through research.
1.8. Maintain and update project layouts and text of produced materials and projects.
1.9. Maintain a catalogue system for EXCEED's stock photos.
1.10. Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed.
1.11. Prepare notes and instructions for 3rd party vendors who assemble and prepare final layouts for printing.
1.12. Mark up, paste, and assemble final layouts to prepare layouts for printer.
2. WORK RELATIONS & CONTACTS
2.1. Reports to: Marketing Division Manager
2.2. External interactions: Print Companies, Graphic Design Companies, Web Design Companies, and Photographers
2.3. Follow implemented internal business processes and reporting procedures
3. ACCOUNTABILITY FOR ACTIONS & IMPACTS
3.1. Devises work methods according to general directives, policies, business processes and specialized professional standards.
3.2. Consults with Marketing Division Manager on main issues relating to principles or policies. Completed work assignments or projects are subject to general review.
3.3. Culturally sensitive, responsible to adapt approach to meet the expectation of Middle Eastern society.

5. MINIMUM JOB KNOW - HOW REQUIREMENTS
5.1 Degree in Art, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Advertising/Public Relations with a strong emphasis on graphic design or related area.
5.2 Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
5.3 Excellent organizational skills and initiative.
5.4 Excellent group/interpersonal, communication skills.
5.5 Excellent knowledge of English (Spoken and Written).
5.6 Well versed with standard design tools (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Desktop/Electronic Publishing & Graphics).
