2D Animator

This position will be responsible for designing and creating highly polished illustrations and animations on a variety of platforms, from concept to completion.

This position will be a core member of the studio’s staff and a positive presence in the office.
As a senior position, there is an overall higher expectation that this candidate’s work will be outstanding and delivered in a timely fashion.

Responsibilities:
Create conceptual art to contribute to the overall -look and feel- for each animation

Design and create top-quality illustrations, short 15-30 second animations and UI elements (according to project specifications)

Complete artwork on time and within requirements

Accurately estimate the time it takes to complete tasks


Required Skills:
Expert level knowledge of Photoshop (digital painting) and Flash (illustration AND animation)

Must be a highly skilled 2D illustrator who can draw things from imagination as well as adhere to established styles

Ability to challenge one’s self to raise the bar on his/her own work and that of the company
Must have an upbeat, positive attitude and enjoy working in a team environment

Ability to modify art based on feedback and critique from the Art team as well as Designers, and Developers

Ability to provide and accept useful feedback and constructive critiques

Ability to stay organized, exhibit great follow-through, work within established procedures and file structures with minimal supervision

Proficiency in Illustrator, Painter, AfterEffects or other art/design-oriented programs is highly recommended

Ability to work within technical limitations and adapt to evolving designs 3D experience a plus

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required

College degree in Art, Animation, Design, or related field preferred

Several years experience as an artist and/or animator

Experience working on a variety of platforms, especially online, mobile & social (iPhone, iPad, Facebook, Android)
