Description

Position: Product Developer/ Designer

Candidate Qualifications/Skills Summary:

BA/BS degree in Industrial/product Design or Architecture
2+ years of industry experience
Must have dynamic understanding of the design and development process from concept to production
Be creative and have an eye for shape and colour
Be able to work within deadlines and budgets.
Working knowledge of tooling and tool making
Understanding of basic production processes
Must be very organized and have exemplary time management skills
Must be a critical thinker and excellent communicator with strong attention to detail
Proficiency with a 3D modeling program and related tools/programs

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Constant communication with vendors to establish design, function, quality and feature requirements; establishing testing protocols and managing material, component, and product testing as needed
• Reviewing samples from multiple suppliers to ensure execution to design intent and database as well as consistency in tooling and finished products across multiple sources
• Planning and tracking the development schedule of assigned products and packaging to ensure timely execution according to the product development calendar and required production dates
• Partnering with suppliers to ensure the superior quality and timely delivery of prototype samples, sales samples, and golden samples for each product, collection, and season
• Addressing all product quality issues by determining root cause and corrective action, and facilitating solutions internally and with suppliers
• Making sound business recommendations to management
