Community Manager At ArabNet

ArabNet is the premier event for the Arab web industry, and aims to grow web content, services and applications in the region by fostering the ecosystem of entrepreneurship. ArabNet 2010 brought together over 500 leading executives from across the MENA, and showcased 20 entrepreneurs with bright ideas and promising startups, all of whom connected with investors. Building on its success, IBAG, the organizer of ArabNet, is seeking to hire a number of excited young people with entrepreneurial spirit and creative ideas to take the ArabNet brand to the next level. All positions will be located in Beirut, Lebanon.

Job description: We're looking for a social media expert to foster and grow the ArabNet community. This person will build a team of ArabNet advocates who will help spread the word and grow the ArabNet network, as well as deepening our relationship with entrepreneurs, bloggers, and partners of all kinds. This person will be responsible for generating original content and leveraging the network to deliver value to the community. This person will manage ArabNet Official Bloggers / Ambassadors and come up with creative new ideas for community engagement initiatives. Will be located in Beirut, Lebanon.

Qualifications: This person should have 2-5 years work experience in media / technology and a deep understanding of how the web is transforming business across sectors. This person must be a power user of facebook / twitter / linkedin. Strong English communication skills-written and verbal-are a must, as well as solid research skills; editorial or blogging experience is a plus. Must be self-directed and independent, comfortable and excited to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
