This magnificent old piece of artwork was created with 3dsMax from
start to f inish.
I begin in every project by gathering references from the internet so that I
can put guidelines to follow in order to achieve realistic results.
By having references in my library, I started the modeling stage that was
a very funny process and had to be careful about details and accuracy in
the designing. With all the parts of the vehicule modeled, I began to think
about a c reative way to present it, by having a n ice lightning system to
show every detail of the car. I u sed for that a simple system consisted of
photometric lights that give accurate lighning that matches the world’s
When the lightning stage was f inished, I c reated materials for distinct
parts of the vehicule to mimic the real world materials, in the same time,
some minor t weaks to the lightning were necessary to compensate for the
changes in the look.
Finally, when everything was setup correctly. I moved on to the
rendering stage where I u sed the awesome mental ray features within 3ds
Max, in particular the f inal gather feature that adds a very nice indirect
illumination to the scene.
By setting up the parameters for the renderer and do some t weaks to the
overall look of the lights and materials, I w as f inally able to achieve very
nice looking render and launch the f inal render.
I rendered different views to show off the nice looking of the vehicule.
Additional adjustements were accomplished in Photoshop to enhance the
beauty of the renders.
